Hi, I’m Carolina. I’m a mom of three boys, and a few years ago my long marriage ended in a divorce that knocked me flat. If you are somewhere in the middle of your own version of that — a breakup, a job loss, a health scare, a life that just does not look like you thought it would — I am really glad you are here.
I did not rebuild my life with one big dramatic change. I rebuilt it with small, unglamorous, repeatable things — a skincare routine I actually stuck with, a handful of supplements that made a real difference, a nighttime ritual that finally let my anxious brain rest, fasting until noon, and a few minutes of meditation most mornings. None of it was flashy. All of it, stacked together over time, is what got me here.
Why I Started This Site
I started My Real Routine because I spent a lot of nights googling things like “how do I feel better in the morning” and “how do I ease this anxiety” and mostly finding either nothing useful or something trying to sell me a miracle. I wanted to be the honest, been-through-it voice I was looking for back then.
This site is for anyone in a midlife transition — divorce, starting over after a career break, kids leaving, illness, or just a season where you do not recognize your own life anymore. I want you to know you are not alone in it, and I want to hand you small, concrete things you can actually do tomorrow morning that might help.
What You Will Find Here
Honest product reviews from someone who actually uses the stuff — including when something did not work for me, or when the cheap drugstore version beat the expensive one. Real routines, morning and night, with every step and product I actually use, not an aspirational version of my life.
You will also find supplement breakdowns that explain what each one actually does and why I take it, sleep tips for anxious minds like mine, and hopefully some encouragement on the days you need it. I write across every price point, because rebuilding a routine should not require a luxury budget.
My Philosophy
Big changes come from itty bitty small steps in the right direction. No single product changed my life. It was hundreds of small choices, repeated and stacked on top of each other, that slowly added up to a version of me I like a lot more.
I also believe skincare and self-care should highlight your natural attributes, not try to fix or change who you are. The beauty industry can be expensive, confusing, and sometimes a little dishonest. I try to cut through that here and just tell you what is actually true, from someone who is in it with you.
One More Thing
I am not a doctor, a nutritionist, or an expert of any kind. I am just someone sharing what has genuinely worked for me, one small step at a time. I hope some of it helps you find your own footing too.
I am not a doctor, nutritionist, or licensed healthcare provider. Everything I share is based on my personal experience. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement, medication, or health routine.
